Mission Statement

When linking the Vision of the church to the Mission Statement it must be seen through the eyes of Scripture. We see the power of the Word in Hebrews 4:12, where it say’s:

“For the word of God is living and active, sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing to the division of soul and of spirit, of joints and of marrow, and discerning the thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

Therefore our Mission Statement is saturated with the mighty Word of God, as we as a fellowship rely on the prompting and power of the Holy Spirit. So with that being said, our Mission Statement is made up of two key Scriptures, which in turn, summarise the overall purpose of a church.

Matthew 22:36-40

“Jesus said, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart...soul...and mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: Love your neighbour as yourself. All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments’”.

Matthew 28:19-20

“Jesus said, ‘Go and make disciples of all nations, baptising them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you’”

Five Instructions for the Church:

1. “Love God with all your heart”... to worship and magnify
2. “Love your neighbour as yourself”... ministry
3. “Go...make disciples”... evangelism and mission
4. “...baptising them...”... incorporation and discovery
5. “Teach them to obey...”... discipleship and maturity
